Why Prague?

Prague is the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic, the 14th largest city in the European Union and the historical capital of Bohemia. Situated in the north-west of the country on the Vltava River, the city is home to about 1.3 million people, while its metropolitan area is estimated to have a population of 2.6 million.The city has a temperate climate, with warm summers and chilly winters. Prague is home to a number of famous cultural attractions, many of which survived the violence and destruction of 20th-century Europe. Main attractions include Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with the Prague astronomical clock, the Jewish Quarter, PetÅ™ín hill and Vyšehrad. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. The city has more than ten major museums, along with numerous theatres, galleries, cinemas and other historical exhibits. An extensive modern public transportation system connects the city. Also, it is home to a wide range of public and private schools, including Charles University in Prague, the oldest university in Central Europe. Prague has nine public universities and thirty six private universities are located in the city.Charles University (UK) founded in 1348, the oldest university in Central Europe, Czech Technical University (ÄŒVUT) founded in 1707 and it has some private colleges also, International School of Prague, University of New York in Prague, University of Northern Virginia in Prague, and University of Northern Virginia in Prague.The region city of Prague is an important centre of research. It is the seat of 39 out of 54 institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences, including the largest ones, the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Microbiology and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. It is also a seat of 10 public research institutes, four business incubators and large hospitals performing research and development activities such as the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Prague or the Motol University Hospital. Universities seated in Prague also represent important centres of science and research activities.Prague's economy accounts for 25% of the Czech GDP making it the highest performing regional economy of the country. According to the Eurostat, as of 2007, its GDP per capita in purchasing power standard is €42,800. Prague ranked the 6th best-performing European NUTS two-level region at 182,4 percent of the EU-28 average in 2016. Prague employs almost a fifth of the entire Czech workforce, and its wages are significantly above average (~+25%). In December 2015, average salaries available in Prague reached 35,853 CZK, an annual increase of 3.4%, which was nevertheless lower than national increase of 3.9% both in nominal and real terms.

The city is traditionally one of the cultural centres of Europe, hosting many cultural events. Some of the significant cultural institutions include the National Theatre and the Estates Theatre , where the premières of Mozart's Don Giovanni and La clemenza di Tito were held. Other major cultural institutions are the Rudolfinum which is home to the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and the Municipal House which is home to the Prague Symphony Orchestra. The Prague State Opera performs at the Smetana Theatre.The city has many the Prague Spring International Music Festival, the Prague Autumn International Music Festival, the Prague International Organ Festival and the Prague International Jazz Festival. Prague is classified as an "Beta+" global city according to GaWC studies, comparable to Vienna, Seoul and Washington, D.C. Prague ranked sixth in the Tripadvisor world list of best destinations in 2016. Its rich history makes it a popular tourist destination, and the city receives more than 8.4 million international visitors annually, as of 2017. Prague is the fifth most visited European city.

Investment on Nursing:

To date, RWJF has invested more than $538 million in nursing programs, including $91 million in the last two years alone, an indication of the growing importance of nursing in the Foundation’s vision of the future of health care. The various programs have contributed significantly to improving primary and inpatient care, thus improving Americans’ health, and they have reshaped organizational decision-making and influenced policy at the institutional, state, and federal levels.

One recent initiative that has had a particularly bold policy impact is RWJF’s work with the Institute of Medicine (IOM), resulting in the landmark 2010 report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health. Together with the RWJF-backed follow-up Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, which supports state coalitions implementing the Future of Nursing recommendations, the report’s impact is sure to be far-reaching and lasting.

Market Value on Nursing:

The 2017 Market Research Report on Nursing and Residential Care Facilities is an in-depth evaluation of the industry and will provide you with the key insights, trends and benchmarks you need to create a broad and comprehensive diagnostic and understanding of the industry and company. Over the five years to 2017, the need for services provided by nursing care facilities is expected to grow steadily along with revenue. During the five-year period, the continued aging of the population has spurred demand for industry services as the number of adults aged 65 and older is expected to increase. However, an unstable reimbursement model and changes implemented by healthcare reform have initiated a shift from nursing homes to at-home managed care and community care services. Since these services are completed at home, their growth represents a potential threat to industry operators. In 2016, industry sales were $238.2 billion. Industry growth over the past 3 years, the industry has grown at an annual rate of 4.1%. Company growth there is 38,615 companies in the industry. Sales per company in 2016, the average sales per company was $6.2 million.

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS:

Presenting authors are responsible for registration, travel, and hotel costs. Note: Those with accepted abstracts will receive an acceptance mail allowing them to register for the conference.
Abstracts will be compiled and conference books are made available to participants at the conference.
Any presenter who is unable to attend should arrange for another qualified individual to present the paper/poster in question. If such a change is necessary, please notify our conference team

SUBMISSION OPTIONS:

Oral paper presentations will have 30-minute time slots and be clustered by theme into sessions. The keynote session will have for 45-minute time slot, workshop/ special session will have 60-minute time slot and symposium will have 60-minute time slot followed by 5-minute Q&A session.
Graduate & Masters students are eligible to submit their abstracts under poster and e-poster presentation category.
Ph.D. students are eligible to submit their abstract under special YRF (young researcher’s forum), poster and e-poster presentation category.

NOTE: YRF category includes short oral presentation especially for Ph. D. students

Extended abstract: Submissions should utilize the Abstract Template. Papers submitted in this category may represent original empirical research, theoretical development, reviews, or critiques.
